Days 1 & 2 of TV Turnoff Week

So I’ve decided to try participating in TV Turnoff Week again this year. And it’s quite difficult this time around, although the weather in Toronto is really nice and it’s made walking around various parts of the city rather pleasant.  Days 1 & 2 of my crazy little experiment have come and gone and so far it’s been pretty good. It is pretty hard to not run into a tv of some sort because televisions are practically everywhere. You can find televisions in malls, in restaurants, in waiting rooms, and they’ve even got those huge screens blaring advertisements non-stop. TV has crept into every nook and cranny of our daily lives.

So far I’ve been pretty good in not watching television, I even missed the return of new episodes of Heroes on

Monday. And quite honestly, it doesn’t bug me too much. I mean, yeah I missed it, but I can always catch it again later.

So what have I done to fill my time since, I’m on a no tv, no video games binge. Well the internet is taking up some time, and I also got a start on doing my taxes, and have been hanging out with friend playing games of handball :)

When I tried TV Turnoff Week last year, I ended up not even watching a whole lot of tv afterwards for about a good 6 months. It’ll be interesting to see if that pattern repeats itself this year, or if I mindlessly give in to the temptation once the week is through.

On a completely unrelated note, I received the Katamari Damacy shirts that I ordered online in the mail today. You can see the pic of one of the shirts. The Prince is rolling up that Katamari. You can check out the pic of my other shirt in my flickr photo album.
