Music, Reading, Books & Pedestrians

Today was a rather beautiful day and as such I decided to partake in some of the festivities that were going on around the city.

I started the day, by checking out The Word on the Street Festival, which was held in the Queen’s Park area. It features books, magazines, graphic novels, and all sorts of other related things from a wide range of large and independent publishers, editors and authors.

I wouldn’t call myself a bookworm/nerd, but I do enjoy books. And i’m glad I was able to attend Word on the Street this year, as it has been about 3 years since I last attended. Click on to my Flickr Photo Stream to view more of my photos from The Word on the Street Festival.

After I felt that i had explored the festival grounds enough at Word on the Street, I decided to head over to Kensington Market for P.S. Kensington aka Pedestrian Sundays Kensington.

As is customary on the last Sunday of each month between May & October, the streets were closed off to automobile traffic, allowing pedestrians, rollerbladers, and cyclists to freely roam the streets and enjoy the music, food, and fare that the neigbourhood has to offer. I also took some video while I was walking around in Kensington Market. Below is a clip of a band singing “Desperado”
