Don’t be surprised if you see a sudden influx of buskers on the streets today. In fact, you may want to take a closer look at the busker you pass by because you will probably be pleasantly surprised at who it is.
Last year, Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace spent 12 hours on Toronto streets busking for change. And he managed to raise an amazing $22,000 for War Child Canada, which was used for a rehabilitationi project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This year, (today in fact October 2, 2008) Maida and approximately 50 other artists will be hitting the streets and busking for change to raise money for War Child Canada. To check out the full schedule of artists & times click on the link below.

If you happen to be in any of the areas where the “buskers” are performaing be sure to spare some change for the worthy cause.

As you can see from the link below, I am a true believer, which is why I am promoting busking to our bloggers.
What can we tell this person (Merlock) who is wanting to start busking, but too shy?
Any of your fellow buskers have any helpful tips?
Do you want to chime in?
We’re all in this together!
