Contra-flow bike lanes

I came across this film made by Streetfilms.org while I was browsing around on Treehugger.com. It’s about a contra-flow bike lane that was implemented in Boulder, CO, in the US. I think it’s a really neat idea.

According to the film, bikes outnumber cars on the stretch of street that the bike lane is on. Which is really awesome to hear! I think it’d be really great if Toronto had something like this. I know that many kilometers of bike lanes are still being held up. But hopefully one day we could implement something of this nature.
